This weekend should be a lot better now that we are getting some rains to cool the bay down and more even tidal flows.

This weeks fishing in Trinity Bay has been off and on due to crazy tides, winds, and rains. The are tons or small reds with keepers blended in. Trout are running around the reefs. Black Drum are thick around structures and dropouts. Birds are working over bait but majority of fish under them is galftop and skipjack with spotty trout. A lot of shad is moving thru with some areas having a lot of dead shad especially in the back waters where their is low oxygen and little to no currents.

Fishing in Trinity Bay has been subpar this past week. Lot of the bite time has been at night during the Shad movements at night. Water temp have remained high (84⁰-91⁰) Last Wednesday and Thursday we had a large Shad death out in tabs Bay Trinity Bay, and sections of Scott’s. Some trout have been lingering in deep water reefs. Reds, blackdrum, and sheepshead have been around rocks with good Tidal flow. The Best Bite times that we were having was in the afternoons between 2:00 and 7:00. Morning Times; birds are moving with gaftop and hard heads underneath with some trout here and there. Bait most favorable is live or dead shrimp under popping cork or on bottom followed by artificial. This weekend should be the same if not better.
